  1. Hey, if it is Connie Willis, I’m in for the ride. Doomsday Book was spectacular and to come back to the “universe” of time travelers is a reading treat.

    It seems as if she has decided to incorporate more time traveling historians this time and as such, it will be very interesting to see how the different mental tones come across.

    I also love that you seem to convey that there is a bit of the old “stream of consciousness” aspect to the time travelers’ inner monologues which, with the increasing interest in neuroscience, is particularly relevant to integrate these days in literature.

    Can’t wait to read it.

    • It’s set in the same universe as Doomsday Book. Amusingly, Doomsday Book was written in 1992, so the time travelers from 2060 still used old-fashioned phones, and they continue to do so in Blackout/All Clear. Maybe they’re on a different timestream where cell phones weren’t invented.
